A Connection Between Style & Mental Health:

How to improve your mental health by making more intentional style choices:

In recent years, the connection between what we wear and the effects on our mental well being has gained significant attention.

The concept of self-care transcends merely physical health, extending into mental and emotional realms as well. By making our clothing choices more intentional taking into consideration our mood or mental state our choices can play a crucial role in fostering a more positive mindset and enhance daily self-care routines- wether it be a stay home day in pajamas or going into the office, getting dressed is something we ( hopefully) do every day!

“Get up ! Dress Up ! Show up!

This is a wonderful mantra, but what about the days when this feels overwhelmingly impossible? Whether it be stress related, anxiety related, or a hint of depression heading your way, having “go to outfits “ prepared when this happens can help!

Prioritize “Comfortable”

By choosing styles that prioritize comfort, you will have less dread of facing the day and better enable yourself to focus on what truly matters—your well-being.

Opt for looser fitting tops; oversized sweaters, tunic style dresses or cardigans paired with leggings or “legging-like” work pants.

  • Soft Fabrics: materials like cotton, angora (cashmere works too!) cozy sherpa or fleece lined pieces.

•Neutral Colors: Soft colors like ivory and grey can have a calming effect.

Remember , you’ve got this!

Xoxo,
